Myers, Roz (Rosemary)
|
|
Rosemary Myers trained as a lithographer, with machine embroidery as
her second subject at Harrogate Art School, before turning to illustration
as a career in the mid sixties. The lucky purchase of an 1880 Albion Press
took her back to print making which then became her full-time occupation. An
obsession with recording buildings which are old and in danger of vanishing
from the scene created many lino prints which will be on exhibition. More
recently the cat as an inscrutable, unconquerable animal has taken her attention.
The beautiful and extremely individual feline has been the subject of paintings
completed during the last nine months, with some lino cuts and wood engravings too.
Rosemary Myers lives and works in Cambridge.
