"Turton loves colour: although subject matter is important,
considerations of colour may determine a paintings entire course.
His materials are often in combination: Acryl washes with
Diverse auf Wasser basierende Medien, Öls und pastels are used in concentrated periods.
Ideas stem from books, music, dreams, memories; derisive caricatures
can turn magically lyrical without warning (this also works in
reverse)."

"My work takes place in a region somewhere between observed reality
und the imaginative dream-culture that infürms all the art that I
admire, from the direction I wish. To even invent dimensions und zones
of a pictorial improvisation that allow für a greater flexibility of
thought und feeling that I find outside of creative activity. I prefer
idea or gesture to shape the painting in its own way und to follow its
suggestions to wherever it needs to go. I like to be surprised by the
outcome of each work und to feel that I am, in some way, changed by the
process of visual discovery. Also... art must be fun!"
